In short
To merge PDFs privately, add your PDF, JPG, PNG or WebP files, set the order and click Merge: the combined PDF is built in your browser and never uploaded. Pages keep their original quality, and phone photos are rotated correctly with location data removed.
Merging PDFs is the job most people search for first, usually minutes before a deadline: a CV with certificates, a signed contract with its annexes, or a stack of scanned receipts for an expense claim. CareerPDF combines PDF files and images into a single document directly in your browser.
You can mix PDFs with JPG, PNG and WebP photos. Each image becomes its own page, turned the right way up using the orientation stored by your phone’s camera, and centred on an A4 or Letter page depending on your region.
How to merge PDF files in four steps
Step 1: Add your files
Drop PDFs and images onto the drop area, or press it with the keyboard to open the file picker. You can add more files at any time; they are appended to the end of the list.
Step 2: Put them in order
Use the up and down arrows next to each file to set the final order, and the cross to remove a file you added by mistake. The list shows the size of every file and the total.
Step 3: Merge and download
Press “Merge & download”. Pages are copied without being re-compressed, so text stays sharp and selectable, and links inside each page keep working.
Step 4: Continue with the result
Need to shrink the merged file for a job portal, number its pages or sign it? Pick the next tool and the merged PDF opens there automatically, without choosing it again.
Zero-Server
Why merging locally is safer than a cloud merger
Online mergers work by uploading every file to a remote server, combining them there and letting you download the result. Even with good intentions, your identity documents, contracts or medical letters then exist on someone else’s disks, in their backups and possibly in their logs.
Here the files are read by JavaScript inside your tab. The combined PDF is assembled in memory and saved straight to your downloads folder. No request carrying your documents ever leaves the device, which you can confirm with the live privacy counter on the home page or your browser’s developer tools.
Photos are also cleaned: when an image is added, it is re-encoded without its EXIF metadata, so the GPS location and camera details embedded by your phone do not end up inside the PDF.
Typical merging tasks
- Attaching degree certificates and references behind your CV.
- Combining scanned pages from a phone into one application file.
- Joining a contract with its annexes before sending it for signature.
- Collecting receipts into a single expense report.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded when I merge them?
No. Merging happens entirely in your browser. There is no upload endpoint on this site at all; it is hosted as static files.
Is there a limit on file size or the number of files?
There is no fixed limit set by us. The practical limit is your device’s memory: desktop computers comfortably handle a few hundred megabytes, phones less.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not yet. Encrypted PDFs are detected and rejected with a clear message instead of producing a broken file. Remove the password with the application that created it, then merge.
Will merging reduce the quality of my pages?
No. PDF pages are copied as they are, without re-compression. Only images you add are re-encoded, at high quality, to fix their orientation and strip metadata.
Why was my phone photo sideways in other tools?
Phones often save the picture sideways and record the correct orientation separately. CareerPDF reads that orientation and rotates the image before placing it on the page.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page and its PDF engine have loaded. After your first use, the app is cached by a service worker, so you can switch off Wi-Fi and keep working. This is also an easy way to prove that nothing is being uploaded.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Samsung Internet on desktop, Android and iOS. JavaScript must be enabled, because the processing itself is JavaScript running on your device.
