Extract Pages from a PDF (Free & Private)

Select the pages you need from thumbnails or type them, then download them as a new PDF.

100% private: your files never leave your browserHow to verify it yourself

In short

To extract pages from a PDF, tap the thumbnails you need or type numbers such as 2, 4-6, then download them as one new PDF. Pages keep their original quality, your original file is unchanged, and nothing is uploaded.

Extracting pages means saving a copy of only the pages you choose as a new PDF, while your original stays exactly as it was. It is the right tool when someone asks for “just pages 4 to 7” or when you want a single chapter, an annex or one signed page out of a long file.

You can choose pages in two ways that stay in sync. Tap thumbnails to select them, with a check mark and a clear page number on each; or type page numbers and ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-. Selecting a thumbnail updates the text, and editing the text updates the thumbnails, so you can switch between both freely.

Unlike the Split PDF tool, which can also create several files at once, this page always produces one PDF from your selection, in page order. That keeps the result predictable when you only need one excerpt.

How to extract pages from a PDF

  1. 1

    Step 1: Open the PDF

Drop the document or choose it. The page count and thumbnails appear straight away.

  2. 2

    Step 2: Select pages

Tap the pages you need, or use Select all and then deselect a few. The counter shows how many are selected.

  3. 1-3, 5, 8-3

    Step 3: Or type them

Enter numbers and ranges such as 2, 4-6, 9-. Invalid entries are pointed out precisely before anything is created.

  4. 4

    Step 4: Download the extract

You get one PDF with your selected pages. Pass it on to compression or signing in one click.

Zero-Server

Share an excerpt without exposing the whole document

The reason to extract a few pages is usually that the rest is private. Sending the complete file to an online service so it can cut out the part you will share defeats that purpose.

CareerPDF reads the file in your browser, draws the thumbnails with pdf.js on your device and copies the chosen pages into a new document with pdf-lib. Only the extract is saved. The pages are copied exactly, including text, fonts and images, so nothing is rasterized or recompressed.

Because the extract is a new document, it also leaves behind document-level information such as bookmarks and outline entries that might reveal the titles of the sections you did not share.

Common extraction tasks

  • Sending the requested pages of a bank statement or contract.
  • Pulling one chapter out of a long report or e-book.
  • Saving only the signed signature page of an agreement.
  • Creating a short handout from a presentation exported to PDF.
  • Collecting the pages you need for an application from a larger scan.

Frequently asked questions

Does extracting change my original file?

No. The original is only read. The extract is a new file.

What is the difference with Split PDF?

Split can produce several files at once or cut every N pages. Extract always produces one PDF from the pages you select.

Are the pages saved in the order I click them?

They are saved in page order, which is what most people expect for an excerpt.

Will links and bookmarks be kept?

Links on the pages are kept. Document-level bookmarks are not carried over, because they may point to pages that are no longer included.

Is the quality the same as the original?

Yes. Pages are copied as they are, without rendering or compression.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Selection, preview and extraction all happen in your browser.

How large a file can I process?

There is no limit imposed by a server, because no server is involved. The limit is your device’s memory: a modern computer handles files of a few hundred megabytes, while phones are more comfortable below about 100 MB.

Which browsers are supported?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Samsung Internet on desktop, Android and iOS. JavaScript must be enabled, because the processing itself is JavaScript running on your device.
