In short
CareerPDF lets you draw or type a signature, place it anywhere on a PDF page and add today's date, entirely in your browser. Your signature is never stored or uploaded; note that it is an image, not a certified digital signature.
Signing a PDF should not require printing, signing with a pen and scanning it back. CareerPDF lets you draw or type your signature, place it anywhere on a page and add today’s date, all inside your browser.
Drawing works with a mouse, a finger or a stylus. Typing your name renders it in a handwriting style, which also makes the tool usable without a pointing device. The signature is trimmed to its ink so it sits neatly on the line, and you can resize it before applying.
The document is checked when you open it: password-protected or damaged files are reported straight away, before you spend time placing a signature. The date added under the signature uses plain digits in your region’s order, so it prints correctly in any PDF reader.
How to sign a PDF in four steps
Step 1: Open the document
Drop the PDF or choose it. Pages are shown one at a time with previous and next buttons.
Step 2: Create your signature
Draw it in the signature pad, or switch to Type and write your name. Press Clear to start again.
Step 3: Place it
Click the page where the signature should go, then adjust the size slider. With the keyboard, press Enter on the page and move the signature with the arrow keys. Tick the option to add today’s date underneath.
Step 4: Apply and download
The signature is placed exactly where you see it, even on pages stored with a rotation. Download the signed PDF or compress it for sending.
Zero-Server
Your signature is not something to upload
A signature image is a reusable asset. When you sign with an online service, both your signature and the document are uploaded and stored, sometimes indefinitely for “audit” purposes.
CareerPDF keeps your signature only in the memory of the open tab. It is never saved to disk or sent anywhere, and it disappears when you close the page. The document is modified locally with pdf-lib and saved straight to your device.
This tool places an image of your signature. It is suitable for everyday forms and agreements, but it is not a certified digital signature with a cryptographic certificate, which some legal processes require.
Everyday signing tasks
- Signing offer letters, contracts and NDAs.
- Completing application and consent forms.
- Approving invoices, timesheets and delivery notes.
- Returning signed documents from a phone without printing.
Frequently asked questions
Is this signature legally binding?
In many countries a simple electronic signature is valid for everyday agreements, but rules vary by country and document type. Check requirements for anything formal.
Is my signature stored?
No. It exists only in the open tab and is discarded when you close or reload the page.
Can I sign without a mouse or touch screen?
Yes. Use the Type tab to create your signature, press Enter on the page to place it and move it with the arrow keys.
Why is the signature in the right place on rotated pages?
The tool converts your click from the page as displayed into the PDF’s own coordinate system, taking the stored rotation into account.
Can I add more than one signature?
Each export applies one signature. To add another, open the signed file again and repeat the steps.
Is the document uploaded?
No. Everything happens inside your browser.
How large a file can I process?
There is no limit imposed by a server, because no server is involved. The limit is your device’s memory: a modern computer handles files of a few hundred megabytes, while phones are more comfortable below about 100 MB.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Samsung Internet on desktop, Android and iOS. JavaScript must be enabled, because the processing itself is JavaScript running on your device.
