Portal Resizer: Photos and PDFs That Pass the Upload
Pick the portal or size limit, drop your photo or PDF, and get a file that fits: passport or square crop, a clean background, and the exact size the upload asks for.
100% private: your files never leave your browser· 0 requests to other servers since this page opened. How to verify it yourself
In short
To resize a photo to under 100 KB, drop it, pick a shape such as passport 4x6 or 200×200 px, and choose the limit: the best JPEG quality that fits is found for you. To shrink a PDF under 1 MB, pick the limit and drop the file. Its text is kept unless only rebuilding pages as images can fit.
Job portals and government services reject files for small reasons: a photo of 140 KB when the limit is 100 KB, a picture that is not square, a CV of 3 MB when the form accepts 2 MB. The usual fix is a website that asks you to upload your passport photo or CV to someone else’s server.
Portal Resizer prepares the file on your own device. For photos it crops to the shape the portal asks for, can replace a plain background with white, light blue or light grey, and finds the best JPEG quality under the size you need. For PDFs it tries the lossless way first, so your text stays selectable, and tells you if more was needed.
Ready options cover limits published by portal owners, and for any other portal you type the limit yourself. Requirements change, so always check the portal’s current instructions before you upload.
How to resize a photo or PDF for a portal
Step 1: Drop your photo or PDF
Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP photo, or a PDF of up to 60 pages and 50 MB. It is opened in your browser and never uploaded.
Step 2: Pick the portal or the limit
Select a ready portal, a generic limit or your own limit in KB. For photos, choose Passport 4×6 cm, Square 1:1, exactly 200×200 px or keep the shape.
Step 3: Place your face and check the background
Drag the photo so your face sits inside the oval guide and zoom with the slider. If you replace the background, adjust the strength and check the edges of your hair.
Step 4: Check the size and download
You see the final size, the pixel dimensions and whether the file meets the limit. Photos download as JPG; for PDFs the tool tells you what was changed.
Zero-Server
Your photo and documents stay on your device
A passport photo, a national ID picture and a CV are exactly the files you should not hand to an unknown service. Here everything runs in your browser tab, using a Web Worker and a canvas: cropping, background replacement, compression and PDF rebuilding. Nothing is uploaded, no account is needed and nothing is kept.
Open your browser’s developer tools and watch the Network tab: no request carries your photo or PDF. A PDF that is re-saved also loses its document properties, such as the author name.
When to use Portal Resizer
- Resize a photo to 100KB or less for a job application form that rejects larger pictures.
- Make a passport photo 4x6 at 300 DPI (472×709 px) with a white background from a picture taken against a plain wall.
- Prepare a 200×200 px photo between 5 and 100 KB for the Saudi eVisa application.
- Fit the Absher national ID photo or Bahrain LMRA expat system images within their published limits.
- Compress a PDF under 1MB for upload, or keep your Jadarat CV under 2 MB with its text still readable.
- Use any other portal, such as a university or recruitment site, by typing the limit it shows.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my photo rejected by the portal?
Usually because the file is too large, the shape is wrong or the background is not plain. Check what the portal asks for, then prepare the photo with the matching option. The tool always produces a JPG file.
Why does the tool count 1 KB as 1000 bytes?
Portals count either 1000 or 1024 bytes per KB, and few say which. The tool uses 1000, the stricter reading, so a file that passes here also passes a portal that counts 1024.
Can it make a white background?
It can replace a plain background with white, light blue or light grey. It finds the area connected to the border whose colour is close to the border’s typical colour, so it works best on a plain wall. It is not AI segmentation and cannot remove a busy background, so check the hair edges in the result.
Will my CV stay readable by ATS?
Yes when the PDF is already under the limit or the lossless re-save is enough, because the text is kept. Only if that fails are pages rebuilt as images, which makes the text unselectable, and ATS software cannot read an image-only CV. The tool warns you when this happens.
Which browsers does it work in?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Samsung Internet on desktop, Android and iOS. JavaScript must be enabled, because the processing runs on your device.
Is Portal Resizer free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how many files you prepare.
Which portals are listed, and how do I use another portal’s limit?
The ready options are the Saudi eVisa photo, the Absher national ID photo, Bahrain LMRA expat system images and the Jadarat CV, each with a link to its published source, plus generic limits. For portals such as Masar, Noor, Bayt or a university site, read the limit shown in the upload error or the instructions and type it in the custom field.
