What employers look for

Nurse recruiters check three things first: your licence and where it is valid, your specialty (ICU, emergency, paediatrics, operating theatre) and your certifications such as BLS or ACLS. Put them where they are seen immediately.

Then show the quality of your care with concrete details: bed numbers, patient ratios, protocols you introduced, audits you passed and patient-satisfaction results.

If you plan to work in another country, state whether you hold, or are pursuing, that country's licence or eligibility, and how many years of post-registration experience you have. Many hospitals screen on these two facts before reading anything else, so put them in your summary.

Frequently asked questions

Should I include my licence number?

Include the licence type, issuing authority and validity. Many employers ask for the number later, so you may leave it out of the public resume.

How do I list rotations as a new graduate?

Add a “Clinical rotations” entry under experience with the units and hours completed.

Should I mention the languages I speak?

Yes. Speaking the patients’ languages is a real advantage; add them to your skills.

Is this template ATS-friendly?

Yes. One column, standard headings and real, selectable text.
